Ms. Kelly
Hello and welcome to 5th grade! I am excited to have you in class this year and look forward to growing and learning together. This is my third year teaching at Kennedy and I love being a Kennedy Cub. Before coming to Kennedy, I taught middle school in Faribault for 9 years and have had the fun opportunity to teach outdoor recreational education in northern Minnesota and New York.
I have two beautiful daughters who are so jealous they aren't Cubs! They will however, take every opportunity to come to Kennedy and meet my "other" kids. We've spent a lot of time this summer traveling around and visiting all their cousins.
Other than traveling, I enjoy photography, reading a good book, biking and running. I'm running my second marathon this summer and can't wait to run alongside the North Shore in Grandma's Marathon.

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there. The clay they used was a young child's mind And they fashioned it with care. One, a teacher, the tools he used Were books and music and art. One, a parent, with a guiding hand And a gentle loving heart. Day after day the teacher toiled With a touch that was deft and sure, While the parent labored by his side And polished and smoothed it o'er. When at last their task was done, They were proud of what they had wrought. For the things they had molded into the child Could neither be sold nor bought. And each agreed he would have failed If he had worked alone. For behind the parent stood the school And behind the teacher, the home. |
